EDUCATOR

Returning to her roots in Ontario, Lacie has combined her passion for music and the outdoors and is part of the mentor team at Tiny Forest Academy.  She continues to build on her private studio GEORGIAN BAY WINDS  teaching private one-on-one lessons.  With the birth of her son Barrett, and now her daughter Josie, she started a new educational programming venture, BAYBAY BEATS, focusing on the music and movement development of infants/toddlers/preschoolers, while encompassing outdoor elements from Georgian Bay and Simcoe area.

Prior to relocating to Simcoe County, Lacie worked as a Music Teaching Artist within the city of Calgary and surrounding Albertan areas.  She served as the single reed instructor at the Long and McQuade South Lesson Studio, working with saxophone, clarinet and theory students.  Throughout the city she was a clinician with middle school and high school students, strengthening their musical skill and craft for their band programs.  She conducted saxophone masterclasses at the University of Calgary, and coached saxophone quartets and ensembles when she served as studio assistant to Dr. Jeremy Brown.

In addition to instrumental performance, Lacie has worked as a musicianship teaching assistant to both Rod Squance, and Allan Bell at the University of Calgary where she focused on topics of dictation, sight singing and rhythmic studies.

Lacie's teaching focus of the fundamentals and exploring the interest of the artist, allow for students to grow in the direction of their choice.  She encourages her students to pursue musical areas that interest them, while strengthening the skills of their craft. She has worked with students of all ages and skill levels ranging from beginner to University level and everything in between.
